Moringa
About:
“Native to India, Moringa has been used worldwide to combat malnutrition. It is a nutritionally complex whole food naturally abundant in vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Daily use of Moringa can help to restore your imbalances, add concentrated superfood nutrition to your diet and help you to consume the recommended 6-10 servings of vegetables per day.
Moringa is considered one of the most complete, nutrientdense plants on Earth. Its leaves have been eaten for thousands of years as a superfood nutritional supplement. Containing over 90 nutrients, 46 antioxidants and abundant minerals, Moringa is often used to combat malnutrition in impoverished countries.
Gram for gram, Moringa contains more B12 than steak, more vitamin A than eggs, and more calcium than milk – this tree’s tiny leaves are big on nutrition.
Moringa leaves, often eaten as a vegetable, contain a such a potent profile of important minerals, trace minerals, protein, vitamins, beta-carotene, Vitamin C, all essential amino acids and various phenolics including quercetin and kaempferol that it truly qualifies for the title: Superfood. Its antioxidant polyphenols detox and protect the liver, boost immunity via several mechanisms, and support healthy blood sugar and lipids.
Neem
About:
In India, a rich history surrounds the neem tree – A tree whose many uses and ability to flourish in tough growing conditions inspired its botanical name, Azadirachta indica which translates to “The free tree of India.”
Neem is used internally to purify the body, externally to beautify the body, and therapeutically to soothe and heal the body inside and out. We blend the highest quality, organically grown Neem leaves, twigs, and flowers to create this purifying supplement. Traditionally used to help soothes skin irritations and support oral hygiene, Neem is also renowned for its support of healthy, radiant skin, hair, and nails. It is excellent when combined with Turmeric Formula.
Neem, perhaps the best responsible alternative to Goldenseal, is renown for millennia as a veritable pharmacy with every aspect of this 50 foot tall tree capable of offering a wealth of health.
In many cultures Neem is highly regarded as a source of profound medicine, in fact ancient legends in India elevate it to the status of being a portal to heaven. It is the main cold catabolic bitter tonic used in several cultures and because it has molecules in it that can mimic the hormones of insects and microbes it has a broad range of anti-pest applications. At least 400 million people consume Neem every single day!
All in one!
Neem benefits parallel the actions of: bitters, tea tree, garlic, and aloe.”

My Thoughts:
“Superfoods” are a very exciting topic for me. If you ask me, that word is used perhaps too often. To me, (in my own words, loosely described) superfoods are nutrient-packed foods that I eat purely because of the benefits they provide to my body. I view them as real food “multivitamins.” The most practical way I’ve devised to incorporate superfoods into my daily diet is to whip up a superfood drink in a blender bottle, every morning.
In this concoction, I include two of Organic India’s goodies: moringa and turmeric powder. Since the neem is in capsule form, I take it separately with some morning vitamins.
So, along with the moringa (about a teaspoon) and turmeric (about 1 tablespoon), I combine cacao and cinnamon. The healing powers of all of these ingredients makes me feel that I have super powers :)
Making this routine a staple in my morning routine allows me to splurge occasionally without guilt–since I know that I’m always getting a hefty dose of goodness in the morning. I’m all about percentage; the majority of the time I eat well (lots of organic & raw food), the rest of the time, I don’t obsess, I just aim to eat sensibly.
I digress–back to Organic India. Basically these products appear to be amongst the best (quality-wise) that you can get as far as herbs and spices go. They are grown organically, utilizing biodynamic agriculture & farming methods (specific crop rotation, adding homeopathic compounds to the soil) and there are no indications that these herbs and spices have been heated (still inquiring about this to be sure).
I love the natural energy and vitality boost that I get from superfoods like turmeric, moringa and neem. I can definitely tell a difference when I’m not in my routine of drinking them everyday. Not only can I feel the energy, but having this superfood routine creates a domino effect throughout my day. One healthy choice often snowballs into many healthy choices throughout the day. When you feel what makes your body truly feel good, you want to keep doing those things.
The “list” of benefits that these plants provide is abundant, however, my two favorites are that they promote clear skin and reduce inflammation in the body. The only speakable ailment I ever endure is severe menstrual cramps. Because of that, I’m always looking to increase my alkalizing foods intake and decrease my acidic foods intake. I try to do as much natural healing as possible & am always open to incorporating new dietary and supplementation tweaks to help myself. Turmeric, neem and moringa all help me accomplish this.
Mind you, these are also super easy to throw into a smoothie! Combining them with a spread of fruits and veggies will help mask the pungent flavor of the turmeric and the greenness of the moringa.
I’m happy to have discovered Organic India and look forward to trying their other health-promoting products!
